Frank Schleck receives 12-month ban

Cyclist Frank Schleck has been given a one-year suspension from the sport.

The 32-year-old has received the punishment because he tested positive for the banned substance Xipamide in July 2012.

The ban began then, but the Luxembourg rider will still miss this year's Tour de France because he will not be cleared to compete again until two weeks after the event has concluded.

Schleck finished third during the 2011 Tour.
