Cavendish angry with cycling's 'drug image'

Mark Cavendish has expressed his anger at the perception that cycling is a sport rife with drug use.

The Tour de France green jersey winner said: "(It annoys me) that they only talk about it (doping) in relation to cycling, while everyone cheats anywhere there is money to be won".

"These days it doesn't exist any more. They took the time to hunt down the cheats and today it is clearly a very clean sport."

The 26-year-old won five stages of this year's race, taking his overall number of stage wins to 22.
