Mark Colbourne grabs gold in men's C1 individual pursuit

Colbourne storms to pursuit gold

Great Britain's Mark Colbourne has snatched a gold medal in the men's C1 individual pursuit at the Paralympic Games.

The Brit, who broke his back in an accident in 2009, came second to his Chinese opponent Li Zhang Yu in yesterday's C1-2-3 1km time trial.

Despite claiming silver yesterday, Colbourne managed to overcome his Chinese opponent with ease following a slow start out of the blocks.

Colbourne set a new world record of 3:53.881 while Li clinched the silver medal in a time of 4:01.826.
