Sarah Storey: 'Road race gold might never sink in'

Storey: 'It might never sink in'

Women's C4-5 road race winner Sarah Storey has admitted that winning her fourth gold medal of the week might never sink in.

Storey, who destroyed the field at Brands Hatch this afternoon, also said that she was surprised that her tactic of early sprinting worked for her.

"I thought I would test some legs and I just got away," she said. "I just can't believe I pulled it off today. I'm so chuffed it was just amazing. The crowd were amazing all the way around.

"I tangled with the guys a bit; I just hoped they wouldn't take me down. It's just a dream come true. I don't know if it will ever sink in."

Storey matched Tanni Grey-Thompson's 11 Paralympic golds with her victory today.
