Great Britain's Paralympic cyclist Mark Colbourne has expressed his gratitude to his coaches after winning the first medal for the home nation.
The Welshman, who started cycling three years ago after breaking his back in a hang-gliding accident, won silver with a time of 1:08.471 in the men's C1-2-3 1kn time trial at the velodrome.
"It's very exciting," said Colbourne. "I've worked for the last eight months towards this. A big thank you to all the coaches.
"I'm very happy. You have to be completely focused in this type of discipline. It was very loud but I probably only heard the crowd after I relaxed into my stride."
China's Li Zhang Yu secured China's second gold medal of the Games, while Germany's Tobias Graf claimed the bronze.
