Bradley Wiggins: 'Tour de France, Olympic glory won't change me'

British Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins has insisted that his recent triumphs won't change the way he lives his life.

The 32-year-old cyclist clinched gold for Great Britain in the time trial and won the Tour de France in the space two weeks, but has insisted that he will not get caught up in the inevitable media interest that follows.

"Even if this hadn't happened to me, I'd be the same," Wiggins told The Mirror. "I'd just be going to gigs and watching the Stone Roses in Heaton Park like ­everybody else.

"I just happen to be good at cycling and people find that ­fascinating. It's really nice. But I ain't gonna change, I'll still be the same lad I've always been."

Wiggins has been widely tipped to be named Sports Personality of the Year.
