British cyclist Chris Froome reveals his happiness at winning a bronze medal in the men's time trial.

Chris Froome has expressed his happiness at securing a bronze medal during the men's time trial earlier today.

The British cyclist finished behind compatriot Bradley Wiggins, who claimed gold, and world champion Tony Martin.

Having also finished second in the most recent Tour de France, Froome has revealed that he is "chuffed" with how the last few weeks have gone for him.

"I wasn't quite sure what to expect today, but that was really mindblowing out there. The crowd were amazing, all shouting and cheering for us," he told BBC Sport. "Even after three weeks in the Tour de France today was quite phenomenal in comparison.

"I knew I was still in good form from the Tour. This really suits Bradley well and I was here hoping to sneak into the medals table. That's exactly what's happened. From my point of view I'm chuffed to bits with that."

Froome has been competing in the first Olympic Games of his career.
