Froome wins Criterium du Dauphine

Team Sky's Chris Froome has won the Criterium du Dauphine in France.

The 28-year-old Brit clinched a comfortable victory in the event ahead of teammate Richie Porte on Sunday.

Froome ended the seventh and final stage in second place, while Cannondale's Alessandro De Marchi finished first.

Team Sky rider Sir Bradley Wiggins won the competition in 2011 and 2012.
