Team Sky’s Chris Froome wins stage 17 of Tour of Spain

Team Sky rider Chris Froome has won stage 17 of the Tour of Spain.

The 26-year-old, who joined the British team last year, managed to claim the win from the final 1.2km sprint of the course.

Spain’s Juan Jose Cobo came in one second behind the Kenyan-born Froome, while Dutch rider Bauke Mollema claimed third place.

Despite the win, Cobo remains at the top of the leader board with Froome below him in second, and Sky teammate Bradley Wiggins sitting in third.
