Cavendish sprints to victory in Denmark

Mark Cavendish has secured victory in the final stage of the Tour of Denmark, his last race ahead of a month-long break.

The Omega Pharma-Quickstep rider sprinted in ahead of France's Bryan Coquard and American Tyler Farrar to record his 16th win of the season.

"I really wanted to win today in Frederiksberg, because it is the third time I've won in three races here," BBC Sport quotes Cavendish as saying.

"This is almost like the Danish Champs-Elysées, so of course I am happy to close out the race with this kind of win."

Dutch rider Wilco Kelderman topped the Tour of Denmark's general classification by an 11-point margin.
