Sir Bradley Wiggins "looking strong" ahead of April's Paris-Roubaix

Sir Bradley Wiggins is "where he needs to be" ahead of April's Paris-Roubaix, says Team Sky sporting director Niki Terpstra.

Cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins is in good form ahead of the Paris-Roubaix, according to Team Sky sporting director Niki Terpstra.

Wiggins is in training for the April event, which is his main target of the season, but he finished 78th in the Tour of Qatar recently.

However, Terpstra insists that his result from Qatar is irrelevant.

He told the team's website: "Brad is where he needs to be. He's looking strong and has been doing a lot of extra work out here before and after the racing. It's been a good training block for him and he's grown in stature as the race has gone on."

Wiggins will turn his attention to the track after the event, as he prepares for the Rio Olympics.
