USA select Tejay van Garderen and Andrew Talansky to lead at World Championships

Tejay van Garderen and Andrew Talansky will lead the attack for USA Cycling at this month's World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain.

USA Cycling have announced their squad for this month's UCI Road World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain.

BMC's Tejay van Garderen and Garmin-Sharp's Andrew Talansky will lead the team in the men's elite road race, which serves as the event's grand finale on September 28.

They will be joined by Brent Bookwalter of BMC, Garmin-Sharp's Alex Howes, Kiel Reijnen of United Healthcare and Smartstop's US Pro road champion Eric Marcotte.

Twenty-six-year-old Van Garderen and Talansky, 25, have also been selected to ride the individual time trial on September 24.
