Lampre rider Miguel Ubeto suspended for testing positive for drugs

Lampre rider Miguel Ubeto has been provisionally suspended after he tested positive for a banned substance.

The world cycling governing body UCI have announced that the Venezuelan rider has been issued with the provisional ban after the substance was detected from a urine sample.

It has been confirmed that the substance was found in Ubeto's system following an out-of-competition test taken on April 16.

The drug is said to be GW1516 sulfone, which has been banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency since 2009.
