The 22-year-old underwent medical observation after landing on her head following a collision with other riders while competing for Wiggle Honda.

Despite initial concerns, Trott has been given the all-clear to ride tomorrow. She tweeted: "Hit the deck today.. Pretty dam hard! Elbow xrayed and all ok! So onto the next stage.. Cheshunt here we come :) #hometown"

The crash occurred halfway through the 90.5km stage near Lawford in North-East Essex.
