Team Sky's Jonathan Tiernan-Locke won't defend Tour of Britain title

Team Sky rider Jonathan Tiernan-Locke has revealed that he will not defend his Tour of Britain title this year.

Tiernan-Locke clinched the race last year, becoming the first Brit in 19 years to take the title.

However, the Plymouth-based rider has confirmed that the event is not part of his schedule, but that he intends to compete in the tournament again in the future, according to BBC Sport.

This year's race gets underway next month.
