Geriant Thomas extends Team Sky deal

Geraint Thomas signs a new two-year contract with Team Sky.

Geraint Thomas has confirmed that he has signed a new two-year deal with Team Sky.

The 28-year-old Welshman joined the British-based team when they were formed in 2010.

Thomas has revealed that he turned down offers from other teams before committing his future to Sky.

"I've been happy at Sky and this is the best place for me to develop in stage racing," he told BBC Sport.

"It is good for your confidence knowing other teams want you. There were good offers but I feel at home with Sky."

Thomas was the only British rider to complete this year's Tour de France, finishing in 22nd place.
