Stage 19 of Giro d'Italia cancelled due to snow

The 19th stage of the Giro d'Italia has fallen victim to adverse weather conditions, resulting in the cancellation of today's racing.

The route is currently covered in snow, which has forced organisers to call off any competing in order to maintain the safety of the riders.

Vincenzo Nibali remains the overall leader in the standings following his victory in the mountainous individual time trial in stage 18 yesterday.

The Italian is currently four minutes and two seconds ahead of second-placed Cadel Evans.
