Michael Rogers leaves Team Sky to join SaxoBank

Rogers leaves Team Sky for SaxoBank

Michael Rogers has joined Danish team SaxoBank-Tinkoff after two years with Team Sky.

The three-time world time-trial champion was a key member of the Tour de France team which guided Bradley Wiggins to victory.

The 32-year-old Australian joins SaxoBank on the back of a season where he finished fifth at the Tour of Romandie, secured victory at Bayern Rundfahrt and was runner-up behind Wiggins in the Criterium du Dauphine.

"I am very excited to be part of an extremely strong and experienced crew such as Team Saxo-Tinkoff in the coming seasons," Rogers told SaxoBank's official website.

"I believe that I can have a positive effect on the team, especially in stage races ranging from the shorter stage races to the Grand Tours. I'm really looking forward to the new challenges ahead."

Rogers has signed a two-year deal with SaxoBank.
