Report: Lance Armstrong to admit to doping

Lance Armstrong will reportedly admit to charges that he used banned substances during his cycling career.

According to the New York Times, the 41-year-old has told his associates and anti-doping officials that he will admit his wrongdoing in order to resume competitive action.

The American newspaper claims that a source has revealed that Armstrong has been talking with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and with the agency's chief executive Travis Tygart.

It has also been reported that the American will meet the director-general of the World Anti-Doping Agency, David Howman.

Armstrong, who has always denied that he took performance-enhancing drugs, was banned from cycling for life by the International Cycling Union.
