Dekker: 'Armstrong destroyed cycling'

Junior rider Kelvin Dekker has launched a verbal attack on disgraced American cyclist Lance Armstrong.

Dekker, who is the son of Rabobank team manager Erik Dekker, has blasted the 41-year-old, who has been accused of taking illegal performance enhancers throughout his career by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, in an open letter on Twitter.

Dekker said: "Thank you Lance, that you destroyed the sport that I love so much! Once you were my hero now you're an a**hole!!"

Armstrong is due to discover today if he will be stripped of his seven Tour de France titles.
