Alberto Contador has taken the overall lead in the Tour of Spain after winning stage 17 on Wednesday.

The Spaniard mounted a late attack at Fuente De to move ahead of the pack with 13km to go before sealing the victory.

It is the Saxo Bank-Tinkoff rider's first stage win since returning from a doping ban last month.

There are four stages of the Tour remaining ahead of Sunday's finish.
