Bradley Wiggins says that winning the Tour de France will take a while to soak in.

Team Sky rider Bradley Wiggins has admitted that he is still trying to come to terms with winning the Tour de France.

The 32-year-old made history on Sunday as he became the first ever Brit to win the Tour, after teammate Mark Cavendish triumphed in the final stage of the famous race.

Wiggins confessed that it is going to take a while for the achievement to soak in.

"I don't know what to say, I've had 24 hours for it to soak in," said Wiggins.

"I'm still buzzing from the Champs Elysees, the laps go so quick. We had a mission with Cav and we did it. What a way to finish it off.

"I've got to get used to that [being a legend in the spotlight], it's going to take a while. I'm just trying to soak it all in. You never imagine it will happen to you but it's amazing."

Wiggins now turns his attention to representing Team GB at the Olympic Games.
