Michael Lumb aiming for June return

Nottinghamshire batsman Michael Lumb says that he is due to return from a shoulder injury in June.

Michael Lumb has revealed that he is on course to return to action in June.

The Nottinghamshire batsman was forced to undergo shoulder surgery earlier this year, having suffered the injury while playing for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.

He will miss the start of the new County Championship season, which gets underway next week, but the 35-year-old believes that his recovery may be "slightly ahead of schedule".

"I think I am meant to be back around June time, but I don't know for sure at the moment. It is feeling pretty good and probably slightly ahead of schedule," the batsman said in a statement.

"The main aim at the moment is to get back onto the field, that is where I am at at the minute. It's very frustrating being out but the aim is just as soon as I can get back playing cricket again."

Notts begin their campaign away at Middlesex on April 12.
