Team GB lose to Italy in straight sets in women's beach volleyball

Great Britain lost in their second match of the women's beach volleyball competition in straight sets to Italy.

A formidable Italian duo of Marta Menegatti and Greta Cicolari were too strong for Team GB, winning by two sets to nil 21-18, 21-12.

Team GB duo Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney are still very much alive in the tournament despite losing the match because of their opening victory against Canada.

A win in their final Group F match against Russia on Thursday afternoon should see the British girls through to the knockout stages.
