Dumbauskaite: 'I'd play through broken leg'

Lithuanian beach volleyball player Ieva Dumbauskaite has insisted that she would even play through a broken leg as her side prepares to compete in the women's bronze-medal event on Saturday evening.

Dumbauskaite picked up a troublesome injury as Lithuania were defeated 2-0 by Austria in the semi-final round, but the 20-year-old has stated that she will shake off whatever injury she is carrying in order to compete for a medal.

"I will rest now till 9pm and I hope I will be all right but I will play whatever, even with a broken leg I will play," Dumbauskaite told reporters.

The Russian Federation currently hold top spot in the medals standings, with Lithuania sitting in 21st place.
