Chris Langridge, Marcus Ellis win Italian International

England's Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis beat Michael Fuchs and Johannes Schoettler 21-11 21-19 to win the Italian International in Rome.

England duo Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis have beaten Germany's top seeds Michael Fuchs and Johannes Schoettler to win the Italian International.

The unseeded pair claimed a 21-11 21-19 victory in Rome to earn their first tournament title together.

"What topped it off was to beat a pair that had recently beaten the world number one and world number three pair," Badminton England quotes Langridge as saying.

"We are getting a good understanding of each other and really starting to play as a pair which is key.

"We both played really well the whole tournament and the scores showed it."

Langridge and Ellis have only been playing together since September, but they won the tournament without dropping a single game.
