World number one faces suspension

Badminton's world number one Lee Chong Wei has failed a second doping test.

A B sample test carried out in Oslo earlier this week has backed up the positive finding of the A sample, which was taken at this year's World Championships.

It is believed that Wei has tested positive for the banned substance dexamethasone, although the Badminton Association of Malaysia have stood by their player.

"This player is a very dedicated player and an exceptional individual. We believe this player has never resorted to shortcuts to achieve success," read a statement.

The 32-year-old, who won silver at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, has been suspended pending a hearing, with a potential two-year ban hanging over him.
