Great Britain's Shara Proctor: 'I still feel like a winner with a silver medal'

Great Britain's Shara Proctor has insisted that she still feels like a "winner" despite just missing out on an historic gold medal in the women's long jump at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

The 26-year-old set a British record by jumping 7.07m in her third attempt.

Proctor was in the gold-medal position ahead of the final round of jumps, but the USA's Tianna Bartoletta recorded 7.14m to drop the Brit to silver.

"This is my fifth World Championships and I knew I had to compete," Proctor told BBC Radio Five Live. "I feel like a winner, I don't care about the colour of the medal. I was told I might not be strong enough. I'm here, I conquered."

Proctor's teammate Katarina Johnson-Thompson failed to reach the final eight.
