GB's Katarina Johnson-Thompson: 'This has been the worst week of my life'

Great Britain's Katarina Johnson-Thompson says that her campaign at the World Athletics Championships has been the "worst week" of her life.

Great Britain's Katarina Johnson-Thompson has admitted that the World Athletics Championships have been the "worst week" of her life following failures in the heptathlon and long jump final.

The 22-year-old dropped out of the running for gold in the heptathlon after three foul jumps and finished 11th in today's long jump final.

"It's such an amazing competition and I crave events like this," Johnson-Thompson told BBC Sport. "I'm really disappointed not to be in the final eight but I gave everything I could.

"I don't know why this has been sent to test me, this has been one of the worst weeks of my life, but hopefully I can bounce back next year."

The athlete's British teammate Jessica Ennis-Hill took gold in the heptathlon, while Shara Proctor claimed a silver medal in the long jump.
