Christine Ohuruogu: 'We all worked really hard for bronze'

Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogu talks up the work ethic of her teammates after they earned a bronze in the women's 4x400m relay final at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogu has praised the hard work of her teammates as they claimed a bronze medal in the final of the women's 4x400m relay at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio this evening.

Ohuruogu, alongside Emily Diamond, Anyika Onuora and Eilidh Doyle, put in a time of 3:25.88 in order to take third, while the United States earned their sixth consecutive gold medal in the event.

"It has been hard but I really want to start enjoying the last 10 years or so of my sport. It is nice to go home with a medal," said Ohuruogu, according to BBC Sport.

"We have really worked hard because we thought we could medal here. We had to come together as a team today, we had to stick in, stay focused and keep each other's spirits up. I am so proud of them, we got a good job done today."

The bronze represents Ohuruogu's third Olympic medal of her career.
