Great Britain's Emily Diamond has spoken of her pride after helping to secure a bronze medal in the women's 4x400m Olympic relay final in Rio this evening.

Diamond got things moving on Saturday night as Team GB also profited from standout showings by Eilidh Doyle, Anyika Onuora and Christine Ohuruogu in order to take third place.

"It has been the most amazing experience," said Diamond, according to BBC Sport.

"We came out here and knew a bronze would be up for grabs and I am so proud we did it."

With Great Britain taking bronze, the United States claimed a comfortable first-place finish, while Jamaica came in second spot.
