Kyle Langford "so happy" with British Championships win

Team GB's 800m runner Kyle Langford tells Sports Mole of his delight following his success at the British Championships.

Kyle Langford has told Sports Mole that he was "so happy" to have won the first senior medal of his career at the British Championships in Birmingham.

Yesterday, the 19-year-old Brit finished ahead of an experienced field that included Michael Rimmer and Guy Learmonth to win the men's 800m in a time of 1:49.70.

"I'm so happy to win my first senior medal. Hopefully there are bigger things to come. At the start of the year, this is the one competition that I wanted to win," said the Shaftesbury Barnet athlete.

"I'm showing I can win races, even at senior [level]. Today was very tactical and I had to run a very fast last lap."

Later this month, Langford will compete at the European Athletics Junior Championships in the Swedish city of Eskilstuna.
