Yamile Aldama reaches triple-jump final with first attempt

Team GB's Yamile Aldama has reached Sunday's triple-jump final after meeting the qualifying distance with her first jump.

Aldama, jumping into a headwind and starting well behind the board, managed 14.45m with her first attempt, the second-furthest after the first round of jumps.

Only Jamaica's Kimberley Williams went further on the first attempt, a 14.53m, which is promising ahead of Sunday's final.

The triple-jump qualifiers are continuing, with the competitors now into their second jumps.
