Christine Ohuruogu claims 400m silver

Team GB's Christine Ohuruogu produces good form in the home straight to claim a silver medal in the women's 400m final.

Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogu took the silver medal during tonight's women's 400m Olympic final.

The defending champion looked to have passed up her chance of claiming a medal as she entered the home straight in sixth place.

However, she showed great endurance with 80m remaining to move through the field and end the race in second spot, just short of eventual winner Sanya Richards-Ross.

Ohuruogu's time of 49.70 seconds was the fastest she has run all season, while America's Richards-Ross went slightly better in 49.55 seconds.

Richard-Ross's compatriot DeeDee Trotter claimed the bronze medal.
