Clarke second in 110m hurdles heat

Team GB's Lawrence Clarke finished second in his 110m hurdles heat at the London Olympics this morning.

The 22-year-old produced a smooth performance, barely clipping any of the barriers on his way to clocking a time of 13.42s.

As a result, the London-born athlete has now booked his place in the semi-final of the competition.

The race was won by world champion Jason Richardson of the United States, who recorded a time of 13.33s.

Maksim Lynsha of Belarus claimed the final qualifying spot with a season best time of 13.47s.
