Chambers wins 100m heat

Team GB sprinter Dwain Chambers has moved into the semi-finals of the men's 100m with victory in the final heat of the day inside the Olympic Stadium.

The 34-year-old got out of the blocks well and went to the front of the field early on.

He eventually crossed the line in 10.02s, which is the fastest he has run all season.

Jimmy Vicaut of France came in second, while Trinidad's Keston Bledman took the final qualifying slot.

The main talking point of the race though was the failure of Kim Collins to compete. It has been reported that the veteran sprinter has been withdrawn by the Saint Kitts and Nevis team following a dispute.
