Idowu's Olympics challenge in doubt

Phillips Idowu's coach has cast further doubt on the triple jumper's participation at the Olympics.

According to The Telegraph, Aston Moore has revealed privately that the 33-year-old is suffering from a trapped nerve that runs from the back of his left knee up to his left hip.

It was announced on Monday that the BOA had asked for details of Idowu's injury after a string of withdrawls from events in Oslo, Paris and London.

Idowu responded to the request on Tuesday, stating that he was disappointed with the BOA's action and saying that he was confident of being fit enough to compete.

However, the latest revelation may be an indication that the Olympic silver medallist will not be at the run-up in London.
