Sebastian Coe: 'Olympics opening ceremony torchbearer not yet decided'

Coe: 'Torchbearer not yet decided'

Logoc chairman Sebastian Coe has denied reports that the torchbearer for Friday's Olympics opening ceremony has been decided.

Speculation has circulated that Locog chief executive Paul Deighton and Team GB chef de mission Andy Hunt have decided upon the torchbearer, but Coe says that the decision rests with the creative team.

"It will be a judgment made by our creative teams, which are led by Danny Boyle and Stephen Daldry," said Coe.

"Do I have a view on this personally or privately? Yes, of course. Have we made a judgment about this, no we haven't."

Director Boyle is in charge of organising the opening ceremony.
