Dwain Chambers has said that simply being able to take part in this summer's Olympics makes him feel like a winner already.

The 34-year-old sprinter tested positive for THG in 2003 and was subsequently suspended from all competitions for two years, as well as receiving a life-time Olympic ban from the British Olympic Association.

Chambers missed the Beijing Games as a result of the ban, however he was cleared to compete at London after the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned the BOA's rule of lifetime punishments for drugs cheats in April.

"It has been a long time since Sydney and I have always said I never believed I would get here," said Chambers, who received his Team GB kitbag yesterday.

"Just to be in the atmosphere of the Games is fantastic. To be able to go out there and experience that Olympic atmosphere to me is like a gold medal to me.

"Wearing the kit and the whole process of kitting out has been fantastic and I am thoroughly looking forward to it."

Chambers will compete in the 100 metres event.
