Britain's Luke Cutts crashes out in the pole vault qualifiers at the European Championships in Zurich after three failed attempts.

Great Britain's Luke Cutts has crashed out in the qualifying rounds of the pole vault at the European Championships in Zurich, Switzerland.

The 26-year-old, who clinched a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, was booted out of contention after three failures.

Cutts was unable to clear 5.40m after three attempts, leaving him out of the competition, but his teammate Steven Lewis continued to fly the flag.

The men's final will get underway on Saturday afternoon.
