Great Britain athlete Eilidh Child wins the European Championships 400m hurdles gold medal, clocking up a time of 54.48 to claim victory in Zurich.

Great Britain athlete Eilidh Child has won the European Championships 400m hurdles gold medal in Zurich.

Despite her rivals gaining ground towards the end, the 27-year-old concentrated on the task ahead and made no mistakes to seize first place in a time of 54.48.

Europe's number one didn't celebrate immediately, preferring to wait for the official confirmation.

Ukraine's Hanna Titimets grabbed silver after running a personal best of 54.56, while defending champion Irina Davydova of the Russian Federation finished in third place.
