Team Scotland confirm Allan Smith withdrawal

Team Scotland have confirmed that Allan Smith has withdrawn from the Commonwealth Games after taking no part in the high-jump competition this lunchtime.

The 21-year-old had been due to represent the host nation in the qualifiers for the event this afternoon.

A brief statement issued by the team said: "Team Scotland can confirm that high jumper Allan Smith has withdrawn from the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games."

Smith's teammate Raymond Bobrownicki progressed to the final following his performance at Hampden Park earlier.
