Euan Burton: Opening was "indescribable"

Team Scotland's flag bearer for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow has revealed that the wall of noise to welcome the athletes was "indescribable" at Wednesday night's opening ceremony.

Burton said that he hopes the supporters would continue to shout loudly for the athletes and expects the Games to be a memorable occasion for all involved.

"When we were standing in the tunnel outside I turned round and shouted 'are you ready Scotland?'," Burton told Team Scotland. "The reception I got was incredible.

"When we went in the noise was indescribable and every time we hit a corner it just went up again. If the rest of the Games is like this it's going to be something special."

Burton's event, judo, gets underway on the opening day of the Games.
