Jon Doig: 'The camp is relaxed'

Team Scotland chef de mission Jon Doig has said that the atmosphere in the camp is "relaxed" ahead of the start of the Commonwealth Games.

Doig also claimed that the positive atmosphere in the Village has allowed each athlete to enjoy their preparation for the competition.

"A lot of what is happening on the outside is not impacting the athletes in the Village, but they are relaxed," he told reporters at a press conference in Glasgow.

"I can see them focused. It is the small things – there are smiles on everyone's faces and they are interacting. They are all engaging with each other."

The opening ceremony takes place at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening.
