Jessica Ennis-Hill to make first 2016 appearance

British Olympic hopeful Jessica Ennis-Hill confirms that she will compete in the javelin at this weekend's Loughborough International Athletics meeting.

Team GB heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill will step up her preparations for this year's Olympic Games at the Loughborough International Athletics meeting on Saturday.

The 30-year-old missed the entire recent indoor season because of an Achilles injury.

However, the Olympic champion has now entered herself into the javelin event this weekend, although she is not yet fit enough to complete a full heptathlon.

In Rio de Janeiro, Ennis-Hill will be bidding to become the first competitor since America's Jackie Joyner-Kersee in 1992 to win back-to-back Olympic heptathlon gold medals.
