Jonathan Brownlee edges out Alistair to take victory in Stockholm

Jonathan Brownlee wins in Stockholm

Jonathan Brownlee edged out his brother Alistair in the World Triathlon Series on Saturday.

Brownlee won the Stockholm course in 57 minutes 31 seconds, just ahead of his brother and 50 seconds ahead of third-placed Gregor Buchholz of Germany.

Jonathan told BBC Sport: "I wanted to win as this season has not gone as well as I'd hoped. Stockholm is a great course; that was a great race. It was perfect."

Olympic champion Alistair said: "It was absolutely perfect. We gave it everything we could."

The brothers' closest rival Javier Gomez of Spain failed to finish the course.
