Mo Farah wins European Championships gold

Mo Farah has successfully defended his European crown over 5,000m in Helsinki this afternoon.

The British distance runner stayed within the pack for the first 3,000m of the race in the Finnish capital.

However, he hit the front with around 2,900m remaining and was not caught as he crossed the finish line unchallenged.

Farah is expected to compete over the same distance at the Olympic Games in London later this year.
