Greg Rutherford confirms Birmingham participation

Greg Rutherford has confirmed that he will take part in this Sunday's Diamond League meeting in Birmingham.

The British long jumper has been struggling for much of the year with injury.

However, the 28-year-old has revealed on Twitter this afternoon that he will be fit enough to compete at the Alexander Stadium.

"Looks like Birmingham @Diamond_League is back on the cards. The injury is healing well so I'll take a few rounds to test it properly," he tweeted.

In 2012, Rutherford jumped to gold at the London Olympics.
