Kim Collins breaks Pan-American Games record

Former world 100m champion Kim Collins has broken a 28-year-old old record at the Pan-American Games in Mexico.

The 35-year-old ran his semi-final race in ten seconds flat, beating the previous record of 10.06 seconds set by Cuba's Penalver Leandro in 1983.

However, the St Kitts and Nevis sprinter was unable to beat his personal best time of 9.98 seconds.

He is hoping to compete at the Olympic Games in London next year.
