Adam Gemili to link up with Steve Fudge

Adam Gemili leaves coach Michael Afilaka in order to join up with UK Athletics' senior sprint coach Steve Fudge.

British sprinter Adam Gemili has parted company with Michael Afilaka in order to link up with UK Athletics' senior coach Steve Fudge.

The 20-year-old had been working with Afilaka since January 2012 but is looking forward to the next chapter in his career with Fudge, who also trains 100m sprinter James Dasaolu.

"I thank Michael and the group I was training with," BBC Sport quotes Gemili as saying. "I'm looking forward to working with Steve and excited about the future."

At the World Championships in Moscow, Gemili became only the second Briton to run the 200m in under 20 seconds, with his time of 19.98 falling shy of the 19.87 set by John Regis in 1994.
